illusion from the music
What I have done so far for my FMP, research, thinking, experiment?
I have researched a lot of artist, their works all have some relation with the sound, or say the way I looked their work made me think of sound, cause sound have such a strong power to effect our motion, so do image, the common sense between them become my most interested point. I also have looked at the real world, found so many things lead me getting a strong sense in relation with sound, like the boles and branches, the way they connect and branch off really inspired me, and colour or just some shapes, the image always in all ways connected to sound. I did some sketches and painting, tried to find my sense of it, and I am getting more and more clear to know the sense. ( in this case, I found the interest in combine the 2 area, that is, animation. So my longer goal to attain is be an animater. The reason I won't make animation for FMP is the technique and time limit.)
What do I want to theme my FMP?
At first, I wanted to make illustration for the story from music that I like at present, but through more and more research I have done, I found out there is no harry to limit the possibilitys. The relation between sound and image is the core that I was searching for, through so many research, I got a quite clear sense of making the sound visible, thus I am going to translate varies kinds of sound into image, and I will then pick up a song to translate it. And based on the life drawing practice I am doing, I especially wants to combine the abstract feeling with human body, so the theme become the dancer and illusion.
What will I actually do?
Now to explore the content is my main work. Base on the research I have done. I need to list all the elements. And try to combine them with body gesture. My work is more focus on the way I express but not a particular story, the information in my work that I want to tell the audience would be the bursting out emotion: happy, joy, release, light, etc..
The out come could be
A long board of drawing and painting.
A sequence of images.
A wall sculpture of sound wave
I will make the experimental work in those way above, and keep practicing how to draw the human body, also transform them into a "sound way"...
How will I evaluate my work/trace the process
I will post my work and analyze it,judge it by some question like
a)Does it relate to my research?
b)Does the research work?
c)Can I change a way to express or develop it?
